Steve Blunk

Steve is State Licensed as a Hearing Aid Specialist in Oregon.

Steve grew up in Grants Pass, Oregon. While attending college in Ashland, he worked in the timber industry in a plywood mill.  He developed a hearing loss and tinnitus from noise exposure in the mill. As a result, Steve has worn hearing aids for the past 35 years.

At Willoughby, we believe that patients want to know that we care before they care about what we know. Our business philosophy is to help those, not by telling them what they have to do, but rather informing them of their options. Our Specialists determine the patient’s needs based on their unique and personal environment.

In 1975, he went to work for Starkey Laboratories, the parent company of Audibel Hearing and the largest hearing aid manufacturer in the United States. During his 27 years there, he worked in manufacturing, training, and development of the new custom in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aid products. In 1977 Steve became licensed as a Hearing Aid Specialist. In addition, Steve has traveled internationally training and educating audiologists and hearing aid specialists in new technologies.

Steve retired from Starkey and joined Willoughby Hearing Aid Centers in 2008 and uses his experience in assisting the hearing impaired improve their communication in southern Oregon.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys hiking in the hills around Grants Pass with his dog; fishing, and white water rafting.
